Thanks for choosing Tightcut. It turns a long recording of someone talking into a shorter one by lifting out the pauses. You pay once: there is no subscription, nothing to buy inside it, no ads, and no watermark on what you export.
The room is probably louder than the level Tightcut counts as quiet. Change Sensitivity to Loose, which lets a noisier room pass as quiet. Still nothing? Under Detection, switch on Set the level myself and raise the level until gaps show up in Parts to remove.
This is the reverse problem: every part of the recording sits under the level. Pick Strict for Sensitivity, or bring the level down yourself.
Turn up Breathing room. It leaves a short margin of sound on each side of every cut, so speech is not chopped.
Tap its row in Parts to remove and that stretch remains in the finished clip. Shorter by is worked out again each time you change your mind.
Reversing rebuilds every frame, and transparency is lost in that rebuild — the video would quietly turn opaque. Tightcut declines the pairing and explains why, so that you are not left with a damaged file. If you want reverse as well, set the background to Color, Photo or Blur.
Any step other than removing silence must redraw the picture, and some formats cannot be copied across unchanged in the first place. In those cases Tightcut re-encodes, keeping the frame size and frame rate of your original.
The only access Tightcut asks for is adding videos to Photos. If you said no, open the iOS Settings app, go to Tightcut, and let it add photos. Share and Save to Files need no permission, so either one is a way around it.

Mentioning your iPhone model, your iOS version and the steps that led to the problem helps us find it faster. Please leave the video out — we cannot open it, and we would rather not hold a copy.
