Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2, 2026

Readglide, a teleprompter for iPhone and iPad, is made and sold by Kohei Omori, a one-person business in Japan (“the developer” on this page). What follows is the arrangement between the developer and anyone who gets or uses Readglide. By getting Readglide or starting to use it, you agree to it.

How these terms sit beside Apple’s

Readglide is distributed through the App Store, which Apple runs, so Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, or “Apple EULA” (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/), applies at the same time. These terms apply to every dealing between the developer and you concerning Readglide. At any point where the two contradict each other, the Apple EULA takes precedence.

What you may do with Readglide

Readglide needs an iPhone or iPad on iOS or iPadOS 16.0 or later. On earlier versions, or on other hardware, nothing is guaranteed.

You may use Readglide on your iOS devices, for personal use and not to earn money. The developer can give the same permission to others too (it is non-exclusive), and you cannot transfer yours to anybody. On top of that, three things are forbidden:

Some uses are ruled out as well:

Paying for Readglide

The price is paid once, when you download. That unlocks every feature, and nothing is left to buy afterwards: nothing is sold inside the app, there is no subscription, and no plan renews itself.

The developer sets the price in App Store Connect; the App Store displays it converted into your currency. In Japan Readglide costs ¥300, consumption tax included. US buyers pay US $1.99, plus sales tax added at checkout where it applies. Everywhere else, the figure is Apple’s conversion.

Payment is taken by Apple, from whatever method your Apple ID uses, and card numbers and similar details never reach the developer. To ask for your money back, contact Apple Support (https://support.apple.com/HT204084); Apple decides on refunds, and the developer follows that decision. A future price change would apply to purchases from then on. Copies already bought are left untouched.

Who owns what

The copyrights, trademarks and other rights in the app itself and in its code, design, text, name and other content are owned by the developer or by whoever allowed the developer to use them.

The scripts you write in Readglide, or bring into it, remain your property. Readglide never sends them off your device, so there is no way for the developer to read them.

The Readglide build now on the App Store includes no open-source code written by third parties. Should any be added, each license notice will be made viewable inside the app.

Limits on the developer’s promises

Readglide is supplied “as is”. No guarantee is given that it is free of gaps or errors, or that it suits any purpose you have in mind.

Readglide puts a script on screen and scrolls it; deciding what to say is up to you. You are responsible for the content of what you display and for how you use it, whether in a talk, a recording or a broadcast.

Should the developer be at fault and cause you harm, the most the developer will pay is what you paid for Readglide during the 12 months before it happened. No such ceiling exists when the developer acted on purpose or with gross negligence.

When things change

Features can change, appear or disappear without notice. If Readglide is to be withdrawn, users will be told on this page or inside Readglide, before it happens wherever that is possible.

The developer may rewrite these terms when needed. A rewritten version applies from the moment it is posted on this page or inside Readglide.

Law and court

The laws of Japan govern these terms. If a dispute over Readglide reaches court, it is heard first by the Tokyo District Court and no other (exclusive jurisdiction at first instance).
